Data Exchange through an MFT Agent
When an MFT agent is activated, the MFT agent automatically creates a structure of folders in your file system depending on the connectivity agreements you created.
Depending on the type of agreement (organizational or personal), the folder structure is as follows:
- Organizational Agreements:
- Inbound: XESCloudMFTData/Organizational/Incoming/<YourInboxReferenceName>/<YourPartnerReferenceName>
- Outbound: XESCloudMFTData/Organizational/Outgoing/<YourPartnerReferenceName>/<YourPartnerInboxReferenceName>
- Personal Agreements:
- Inbound: XESCloudMFTData/Personal/<YourPartnerEmailReferenceName>/Incoming
- Outbound: XESCloudMFTData/Personal/<YourPartnerEmailReferenceName>/Outgoing
Note If you are not able to access a required inbox, contact your account administrator.
Data exchange through an organizational agreement
After you (as an administrator) have created an organizational agreement connection, you can start exchanging data.
To receive data from your partner:
- Navigate to the XESCloudMFTData folder in your file system. In the Incoming folder of the Organizational folder, click the <YourInboxReferenceName> folder.
Note The incoming folder appears in your file system right after your partner sends you the files.
- In the <YourInboxReferenceName> folder, click the <YourPartnerReferenceName> folder to view the files received from your partner.
To send data to your partner:
- Navigate to the XESCloudMFTData folder in your file system. In the Outgoing folder of the Organizational folder, click the <YourPartnerReferenceName> folder.
- In the <YourPartnerReferenceName> folder, click the <YourPartnerInboxReferenceName> folder, and then copy the files you want to send to this folder. The files are transferred to your partner.
To view the files you have sent, use the Transmissions section in the MFT service web portal or in your MFT agent's client. For more information, see Track Data Exchange.
Data exchange through a personal agreement
After you have created a personal agreement connection, you can start exchanging data.
To send data through a personal agreement:
- Navigate to the following location: XESCloudMFTData/Personal/<YourUserEmailAddressReferenceName> and open the Outgoing folder.
- Copy the files you want to send to the Outgoing folder. The files are transferred to your partner.
To receive data through a personal agreement:
- Navigate to the following location: XESCloudMFTData/Personal/<YourUserEmailAddressReferenceName>.
- In the Incoming folder, view the files that were sent by your user/partner.
Note The Incoming folder appears in your file system right after your partner sends you the files.
