Create Personal Agreements

Account administrators and regular users can exchange files directly with each other and users of other accounts. The account administrator gets notified about all personal agreements that users of this organization account create and can view names and sizes of the transferred file and the transmission time. However, the administrator cannot view the contents of the files transmitted through the personal agreements.

To establish a connection with a user/partner through a personal agreement, use the Personal-Mine section that allows you to:

  • Invite (send an invitation) another user/partner to create personal agreements.
  • Remove personal agreements.
  • View the currently established and pending personal agreements.
  • Get and view notifications when a target user/partner accepts or rejects a personal agreement invitation.

On the Personal-Mine tab, an administrator can view, edit, or remove his/her personal agreements to stop direct data exchange.

Note The Personal-Others tab is available for account administrators to track personal agreements that the users of the same organization account create.

To create a personal agreement:

  1. Open the MFT service web portal in a browser.
  2. Click , in the Connectivity Agreements section, on the Personal-Mine tab, click Create Agreement.

Note Before you invite a user to establish a personal agreement or accept a personal agreement invitation, make sure your MFT agent is activated.

  1. In the Create Personal Agreement dialog, in Select a partner, enter the name or the email of a user with whom you want to exchange data. The user list is pulled from TPM.
  2. Click Invite. An email notification is sent to your user/partner.

An invitation to create a personal agreement is sent to your user/partner. After your user/partner accepts the personal agreement invitation, you receive an email notification and a notification in the MFT service web portal with the user/partner's response. In your file system, in the XESCloudMFTData folder, in the Personal folder, the MFT agent creates a folder with the name that matches the user/partner's email address.

If your target user has not accepted your invitation yet, and your personal agreement is still pending, you can cancel the invitation. To do this, on the Personal-Mine tab, in the table, select the name of the user for whom you want to cancel the personal agreement invitation, click next to the user name, and then click Yes to confirm your selection. Your target user receives an email notification and a notification in the MFT service web portal of your agreement invitation cancellation.

You can remove a personal agreement anytime.
