Test Scenarios

After you, as an administrator, registered your application/endpoint and created an application/endpoint profile, you and/or superusers should test and validate the application/endpoint. On the tab Test Validations, you, as an administrator or superuser, can validate your applications/endpoints against the set of scenarios that are published by CAQH/Edifecs.

Note Only account administrators and superusers can add and remove test scenarios. If you do not have access permissions, contact your account administrator.

To validate your application/endpoint against pre-defined scenarios, you should select and add a test scenario, and submit the scenario for a CAQH/Edifecs review.

Note Before you add a scenario for the endpoint, you must set up a test application and provide a client ID and secret key assigned by your authorization server. To do this, on the My Endpoints page, click Setup Test App.

To add a test scenario:

  1. On the pages My Application for the applications and My Endpoints for the endpoints, on the tab Test Validations, click Add Scenarios.
  2. In the pane Add Test Scenarios, in the section Test Scenario Library, select a group of scenarios, and then select a specific scenario(s) required for your application/endpoint testing.

Note Each group may contain mandatory and optional scenarios. When you select a certain group, the mandatory scenarios are selected automatically. You cannot deselect or remove the selected mandatory scenario(s).

  1. After you have selected a certain group and certain scenarios, next to Text Scenario Library, the details and steps of the scenario are displayed. In Scenario Steps, you can explore instructions and download attached documents for any of the selected scenario to perform an execution submission of this test scenario.
  2. Click Apply to add the selected test scenario. On the tab Test Validation, the test scenario is assigned the status Not Started and is displayed in the section Test Scenarios. The application/endpoint is assigned the status In Progress.

Once you created a certain scenario, create an execution for this scenario.
