Create Executions
After you have selected and added a certain scenario from the Test Scenario Library, and the scenario is assigned the status Not Started, you should create an execution for this scenario.
Note Only account administrators and superusers can create and manage executions. If you do not have access permissions, contact your account administrator.
To create an execution:
- On the pages My Applications for the applications and My Endpoints for the endpoints, on the tab Test Validations, in the section Test Scenarios, select a scenario for which you want to create an execution.
- Next to Test Scenarios, in the details of the scenario you selected, expand Executions, and then click Create.
- In the pane Create Execution, revise steps, upload supported documents if any, and then click Save or Save & Close. In the test scenario details, the created execution is added with the status Pending Submission to the section Executions. The scenario is assigned the status In Progress.
After you have created the execution, you can submit an execution of a test scenario for the review by CAQH/Edifecs and get the result for that execution. As a part of the process, CAQH/Edifecs reviews the submitted executions against the scenario and marks the executions as Passed/Failed based on the execution results. Some of the executions you have submitted may not be reviewed by CAQH/Edifecs. In this case, these executions remain in the status Not Reviewed and are available to CAQH/Edifecs for the review on your subsequent submission of the test scenario.
When the execution has the status Pending Submission and the scenario is in the status In Progress or Failed, you can:
- Modify executions.
- Delete executions that are either in the status Pending Submission or in the status Not Reviewed.
- Remove the test scenario from the Test Scenarios section, if the scenario is not mandatory.
When the execution is submitted for the review and is assigned the status Pending Approval, and the scenario has the status Pending Approval, you cannot:
- Modify the execution.
- Remove the test scenario from the Test Scenarios section.
- Create one more execution against the scenario.
When you have submitted an execution for the review, the execution gets the status Pending Approval. When CAQH/Edifecs approves/rejects the scenario but has not reviewed the execution (not marked as Passed or Failed), then the execution has the status Not Reviewed.
To submit an execution:
- On the pages My Applications for the applications and My Endpoints for the endpoints, on the tab Test Validations, in the section Test Scenarios, select a scenario for which you created an execution.
- Expand Executions, from the list, select the execution that you want to submit, and then click Submit. The status of the execution changes to Pending Approval. And the status of the test scenario changes to Pending Approval.
Note You are allowed to submit only five executions of a certain test scenario.
After one or several executions have been submitted for the review, the test scenario is assigned the status Pending Approval, and you may wait for the result of the CAQH/Edifecs review. But you still can submit your application/endpoint for the CAQH/Edifecs approval without having to wait for the result of your scenario's and execution's review from CAQH/Edifecs.
An execution of the scenario can have the following statuses.
- Pending Submission: An execution is created for the scenario and has not been yet submitted for a review and approval.
- Pending Approval: The executions is submitted for the review and approval of CAQH/Edifecs. You cannot edit the execution in this status.
- Passed: The execution is approved by CAQH/Edifecs. You cannot edit the execution in this status.
- Failed: The execution of the scenario is rejected by CAQH/Edifecs. You cannot edit the execution in this status.
- Not Reviewed: The execution is submitted for the review of CAQH/Edifecs, and CAQH/Edifecs has not yet approved/rejected the scenario and has not yet taken any action on this execution (has not marked the execution as Passed or Failed). And the status of the scenario is also In Progress or Rejected. You can delete but cannot modify the executions in this status.
To submit your application/endpoint for validation, on the top of the pages My Applications for the applications and My Endpoints for the endpoints, click Submit for Review to validate your application/endpoint.
