Explore the Directory
Note Access to this section is based on the type of your subscription. If you do not have access permissions, contact a CAQH administrator.
The Directory is a common platform that contains and lists all the published applications and endpoints along with the organization details. With the Directory, you can:
- Browse through the available applications/endpoints.
- View the details on each applications/endpoints.
- Search for specific organizations.
- View the details (such as, the logo, name, type, digital signature, contacts, and so on) on each organization that published its applications/endpoints.
- View the average star rating of all the published applications/endpoints.
Note To show your intent to connect to applications and endpoints published by another organization, establish a partnership with this organization. Only account administrators and superusers can establish a partnership with the organization. If you do not have access permissions, contact your account administrator.
The Directory has the following sections:
Applications
On the page Directory: Applications, you can:
- View the applications published to the CAQH Endpoint Directory by you and by other organizations.
- Search for specific applications by organization's name or ID, by a key word in the application name or description, or by use cases, such as: Patient Access, Formulary, Coverage Requirements Discovery, and so on.
- View the average star rating of the applications on their cards.
You can click a specific application to:
- View the application profile.
- View the application scopes.
- View whether a certain application has been attested to CARIN Code of Conduct.
- View whether a certain application has received the EHNAC Trusted Dynamic Registration and Authentication and has been accredited or certified for FHIR ecosystem cybersecurity, privacy, and scalability.
- View whether a certain organization's Internal Revenue Service (IRS) documentation has been verified.
- View the list of test validations passed by the application.
- Open the organization profile with all their published applications and endpoints.
- Send a connection request to the organization that developed the application to show your intent to work with this organization.
- View the total average star rating and count of the reviews of the application.
- View each individual review with the star rating.
- As a payer, rate the application and to submit your feedback based on your experience of working with this application for review.
Note You can rate the same application or endpoint and provide your feedback on them multiple times, but only the most recent review with the star rating will be applicable. Note You cannot rate applications and endpoints of your own organization.
- As a payer, edit the existing reviews with the star rating of a certain application and to resubmit them for a CAQH administrator review. Once resubmitted, the published reviews are assigned the Pending Approval status.
Endpoints
On the page Directory: Endpoints, you can:
- View the endpoints published to the CAQH Endpoint Directory by you and by other organizations.
- Sort the endpoints by the table headers Name, Description, Publishing Organization, Modified Date, Rating in the ascending or descending order.
- Search for specific endpoints by a key word in the endpoint name or description, by the organization name and organization ID that published the endpoint(s), as well as find the endpoint(s) that support a specific FHIR version and/or FHIR resources. You can also search the registered endpoints by their lines of business: Commercial, Medicare, Medicaid, use cases, such as: Patient Access, Formulary, Coverage Requirements Discovery, and so on, and by organization aliases.
- View the average star rating of the endpoints in the list.
- View whether a certain endpoint has been certified by Drummond – one of the most visible certifiers of endpoints to understand the quality of a certain endpoint and to view whether this endpoint is interoperable and can ensure automated, reliable interactions and secure exchange of information for electronic healthcare records (EHRs).
You can click a specific endpoint to:
- View the endpoint profile.
- View whether the endpoint has been certified by Drummond – one of the most visible certifiers of endpoints to understand the quality of this endpoint and to view whether this endpoint is interoperable and can ensure automated, reliable interactions and secure exchange of information for electronic healthcare records (EHRs).
- View the total average star ratings of the endpoint.
- View the list of test validations passed by the endpoint.
- Open the organization profile with all their published applications and endpoints.
- Send a connection request to the organization that published the endpoint to request access to it.
- View each individual star rating and the name of the organization that has provided this rating.
- Rate the endpoint and to submit your feedback based on your experience of working with this endpoint for review. Note that only star rating of the endpoint gets published and is visible in the Directory.
Note You can rate the same application or endpoint and provide your feedback on them multiple times, but only the most recent review with the star rating will be applicable. Note You cannot rate applications and endpoints of your own organization.

Organizations
On the page Directory: Organizations, you can:
- View and sort validated organizations and their applications and endpoints.
- Search for specific organizations by their IDs, by a key word in the organization name or description, by the organization type, by organization aliases, as well as by interoperability solution vendor's name.
You can click a specific organization to:
Discovered Organizations
On the page Directory: Discovered Organizations, you can:
- View and sort discovered organizations and their endpoints.
- Search for specific organizations by their IDs, by a key word in the organization name or description, by the organization type, as well as by organization aliases.
- Claim a discovered organization.
You can click a specific discovered organization to view the organization profile with all the endpoints and go to endpoints profiles or claim this organization as well as discovered endpoints for this organization. Click Claim Organization, and then click Submit to send a request to claim your organization. You can provide your comments or any information needed to justify your claim.
When you claim the discovered organization/endpoint, notifications are sent out to:
- Your organization primary and secondary contacts.
- A CAQH administrator in the CAQH Enpdoint Directory administrator application.
- A CAQH reviewer through an email.
When your claim of the discovered organization/endpoint is approved by CAQH, this organization/enpdoint is removed from the discovered organizations/endpoints.
Note If the claim is being processed for a specific endpoint, the Claim Organization button remains disabled till the claim is rejected.
Discovered Endpoints
On the page Directory: Discovered Endpoints, you can:
- View and sort the discovered endpoints added to the CAQH Endpoint Directory.
- Search for specific discovered endpoints by a key word in the endpoint name or description, by the discovered organization name and organization ID within which this endpoint is added, as well as find the endpoint(s) that support a specific FHIR version and/or FHIR resources. You can also search the discovered endpoints by their lines of business: Commercial, Medicare, Medicaid, use cases, such as: Patient Access, Formulary, Coverage Requirements Discovery, and so on, and by organization aliases.
You can click a specific discovered endpoint to:
- View the endpoint profile.
- Open the profile of the discovered organization within which this endpoint is added.
- Rate the discovered endpoint and to submit your feedback based on your experience of working with this endpoint for review. Note that only star rating of the endpoint gets published and is visible in the Directory.
